A number of folks recommended La Mar and we were eager to check it out. While there are a couple branches in the US - specifically in FL and CA, we figured we would try the original location.
I suspect that due to their large English speaking customer base, all the servers we encountered were quite fluent in both English and Spanish. We arrived at noon and were the fourth party there and when we left around 2, there was a line forming outside the establishment.
The service was solid, atmosphere was fun - bright and colorful, and the food was fabulous. We ordered two different types of ceviches, a crab appetizer, seafood paella and two Pisco Sour cocktails and the final bill was $128 USD. While there are certainly less trendy and expensive ceviche bars all over Peru, at La Mar you get a special kind of ambiance which makes it well worth the visit (IMO).
