One of the stops of our river cruise from Vienna to Budapest was in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Growing up, I remember when Czechoslovakia was a unified nation and don't know when it split into two - Slovakia and Czech Republic so this was an interesting stopover for me. While this small country would not sit high on my list of countries to visit, I was still glad it was part of our itinerary and enjoyed our afternoon there.
Bratislava in general is very small and sits between Austria and Hungary along the Danube river. It is quite a small, quaint town and I felt that an afternoon was more than enough for me to get the essence of the town.
