Leaning Tower of Pisa

I absolutely LOVED the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  It is very touristy, crowded with hordes of visitors trying to get the perfect photo of them 'holding up the tower', and the tower itself is only 57 meters high (about a sixth of the Eiffel Tower and half the size of Big Ben).  The town itself though also has a great pedestrian walkway with lots of small shops, awesome views, fresh food from small eateries and most of all, the opportunity to check off the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa off your to do list.

We spent less than 24 hours in Pisa before heading to Monteriggioni and the perfect amount of time to enjoy the local sites before while re refueled our bodies for the next leg of our journey.

Our concierge recommended two local places to eat based on our cravings and both were a hit. Osteria in Duomo - close to main square and cheese/meat board was great, and highly recommend the pasta with meat sauce.

La Tana (thin crust pizza) - lovely local pizzeria with really great house red wine.

The potato and ham pizza was amazing!

The house wine was AWESOME and only 4 Euro
