Needing a break from the sun and wanting to try something different, we headed to the Donkey Sanctuary, a top rated "things to do" on TripAdvisor. They provide a safe haven for the remaining donkeys on the island and all of them have been neutered and will be cared for until they pass. It's kind of sad that the breed will be extinct on the island in the future, but I was happy to see that they will be well cared for for the rest of their days.
We brought apples and purchased a big bag of donkey food. Suddenly, we went from being largely ignored to quite popular with the residents. As soon as the food was gone though, we became very uninteresting again. Fickle creatures.
