Tim Ho Wan, Hong Kong - 1 Michelin Star Dim Sum

We've seen on tv and also read about Hong Kong's wealth of wonderful dim sum restaurants so we were really excited that friends took us to the famous Tim Ho Wan, a shabby looking restaurant that has the honor of boasting a Michelin star. They are famous for their pork buns and I will honestly say, it is was pretty damn good. The bun is somehow airy while having a slight crunchy outer shell that gives you a nice chew. The pork filling is out of this world, meaty with just the right balance of savory and sweetness.

Everything was so cheap so we basically ordered everything on the menu. The four of us ate 15 dishes for less than 50 usd. All the other stuff was standard fare and personally, I prefer a wider variety, but it was nonetheless worth the journey to try the famous a Michelin starred pork buns. Of course, we had great company which made the meal even more special.
