Linus' Bama Style Barbecue (라이너스 바베큐) - Itaewon, Seoul

Hubby was in the mood for BBQ and thanks to the growing diversity of dining options in Seoul, we had a few choices available to us.  After spending a bit of time locating our options online, we narrowed it down to Linus' Bama Style BBQ.  The catchy name piqued our interest and positive reviews from multiple sources was a great sign.  It was the chef bio though that sealed it for us.

About Linus (from his facebook page) "I'm a Korean Man born in the States, reared in Birmingham, Alabama and currently residing in Seoul, South Korea slinging authentic competition quality BBQ.
I'm pretty much obsessed in "leveling up my skills" and return to the states several times a year to train with BBQ gurus and legends and compete amongst World Champs in Nationally sanctioned BBQ cookoffs. (belonging to Top 10 Whole Hog Team Party-Q, based out of Batesville, Arkansas)
Trained as an MBN BBQ judge, I'm committed to bringing competition quality BBQ to the mouth holes of the hungry and discerning all over the world."

We were ready to meet our creator... (of dinner) and headed down to Itaewon, arriving around 730PM to be told the wait would be 90 minutes.  Yikes.  Clearly, we are not the only ones with internet access.

Thankfully, we were seated an hour early because we volunteered to sit at the bar...which was an offer extended the to 20+ people in queue before us, all which was turned down.  I guess South Koreans like to face each other as they eat.

Anyway, we order two white ales and the dinner for two option which was brisket, pulled pork, buttered rolls, pork n beans, slaw, and mashed potatoes plus ordered a side of fried jalapeno mac n cheese balls to top us off.  I took a photo of the dessert menu fully anticipating that we would be ordering something, but our stomachs protested.  We didn't have room for cobbler or pudding....but somehow, we were able to fit in a couple of churros before we headed back home.

The food was really good and we shall be back.  I already know what I want to try next time and will remember to get there early, and go hungry!
