Hongdae Throwdown : Gusto Taco vs. Grill 5

We made an appointment for our first Korean language lesson in Hongdae and decided to have a quick bite before we met out instructor.  I wanted to check out Grill 5 based on a few blogs I read and hubby wanted to check out Gusto Taco.  Since both were only a few blocks apart, we decided to check them both out!

From each, we order a quesadilla and an order of tacos.
First stop - Gusto taco where we ordered chicken tacos and pork quesadilla.  The chicken taco was moist and the taco shell was crispy.  Tasted like it was freshly fried without being greasy.  The pork quesadilla was cheesy and meaty - two thumbs up!

After a short 10 minute walk, we arrived at stop two - Grill 5.  Ordered the shrimp tempura tacos and bacon & potato quesadilla.  The bacon and quesadilla was really tasty, but the shrimp tempura was meh.  Sounds promising, but execution is a bit off.  Too many ingredients in one taco and the sweet chili sauce overkill.

In short, winner: Gusto Taco.  YUM.

After food and lesson, we walked around Hongdae which is always entertaining in itself.
