There were two Galbi Jim places that we read a lot about and in our previous visit to Seoul last year, we only had time to check out Seochomyeonok (서초면옥) in Seocho-dong (서초동). So naturally, we decided to try Gangnam Myeonok which also had quite a bit of hype. Both are good, but we both liked Seochomyeonok (서초면옥) better. It is a bit spicier and we both preferred the extra kick. However, both dishes had delicious 'fall off the bone' goodness and we understand why each one was so highly recommended. The one plus about Gangnam Myeonok is its location which is closer to Insadong.
We ordered the smallest Galbi Jim and had them fry rice in the remaining sauce after we finished the beef. It was very filling and we both liked kimchee fried rice. We just had one serving of rice made (extra 2,000 KRW) and it was more than enough for both of us.
