In Korea, we had to check out a few galbi places (of course!) and we luckily found this one on Seoulistic's top ten so we added it to our short list. We went in for a very late lunch/early dinner at around 3:30 and when we got there, there was only one other table occupied. It is a no frills kinda place that offers few menu items since they really just specialize in one thing - galbi jim.
When you enter, you will see three tables and that each seat four people. To the left, there are about a dozen low tables where you sit crossed legged and shoe-less. Wanting an 'old school' experience, we quickly kicked off our shoes and headed toward a table against the left wall.
We ordered the smallest order of Galbi Jim (starting at roughly $32USD) and a bowl of neng myun ($6.50 USD) to share.
This was one of our favorite meals. Everything was so good. The meat was seasoned so wonderfully, not too salty or with a really nice touch of heat. Just tender, fall off the bone, well marinated beef ribs.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Seoul. Two thumbs up!
