N Seoul Tower, South Korea

Have you ever heard of the love lock tower in Seoul?  No?  Neither did I, but thanks to tripadvisor, I found it and loved it!

The N Seoul Tower offers beautiful views of Seoul and sits on top of Mount Namsam.  You can get there by cable car, but I read that the lines are long so we opted to hop on the bus from Chungmuro Station and took the 02 bus.  The bus took 20 minutes and took us all the way up the mountain where the air was cooler, views were amazing, and we were fortunate to be there on a clear day.

Once off the bus, it is a solid 5 minute walk up a 45 degree hill.  Others mentioned it would take 20 minutes, but I think that would depend on your activity level and shoes.  We saw a number of ill prepared tourists wearing heels, as well as quite a few senior visitors who climbed slowly, but steadily uphill.  We were both wearing sneakers so it took us only a few minutes to reach the top...and we were both very happy to arrive at a flat terrain when we did.

The Tower is known largely for its “love locks.” Several years ago, a TV program’s main characters visited the terrace and attaching 2 padlocks to the fence as a symbol of their undying love.  I've never seen that drama, but I guess it was very popular since there are tens of thousands of love locks hanging around the terrace. To show our love, we brought a lock of our own from New Jersey and it traveled 7,000 miles with us to it's permanent home on the second deck.

This is a super dorky, corny thing to do, but I loved it anyway.
