Aruba - Day Four: Baby Beach

Dutch Pancake house.  Ordered the one with bacon and onions.  Very dry, lacked flavor and just not my cup of tea.

Baby Beach was awesome and if in Aruba, a must do.  Hubby is at least 30 feet from shore and only in knee high water.  Snorkeling was nice in this half moon shaped man made lagoon.  However, further out the current is really, really strong. I made very little progress in the roped in snorkeling section and after several minutes, decided my morning would be better served sitting on my laurels in the shallow section.

Panoramic view.  You can rent chairs and umbrella or if you are lucky, you can find an open spot under one of the few trees

The rocky side of Baby Beach
This is an island landmark, an anchor in memory to all the lost seaman.  We didn't realize this at the time, but thanks to google I just learned it's meaning.  It is in the middle of nowhere and I think everyone uses it as a marker so you know when to turn for baby beach.  Just a quick photo op and if you drive slowly, you can appreciate all the cute wild goats grazing nearby

After a great diner at Cuba's Cookin (yum!) , we stopped by Haagen Daz and found that they were serving Macadamia Nut Brittle - something that is not easy to find and at one time, hubby's favorite ice cream.  He was so excited that he ordered two scoops!  It's been years since he had it and he found it to be too sweet.  I guess it's one of those things that was better remembered than experienced.

Hung out at the Renaissance Mall, but didn't do any gambling.
